Upcoming Programs

Through the U.S. Department of State's premier professional exchange program, International Visitors Leadership Program participants and Global Ties Arizona Members share experiences to strengthen local communities and foster a peaceful, prosperous world.

Through short-term visits to the United States, current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts. Professional meetings reflect the participants’ professional interests and support the foreign policy goals of the United States.

World leaders, ranging from former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to Mexico's former president Felipe CalderĂłn, developed close ties to the United States through their experience as IVLP participants. With an impressive alumni roster of more than 350 current and former heads of state worldwide, the IVLP and members of the Global Ties network have played a role in shaping U.S. international relations for decades.

The IVLP relies on the commitment and skills of Global Ties U.S. members, like Global Ties Arizona, across the United States to develop local professional programs, arrange cultural activities, and provide home hospitality for IVLP participants.
