IVLP delegation from Egypt visits Arizona to explore the U.S. Experience with Pretrial Detention, Bail, and Bail Reform

Last month Global Ties Arizona welcomed an Egyptian delegation focused on exploring the pretrial and bail systems in Arizona. Throughout their program experiences, the delegation was introduced to Arizona’s legal principles of criminal law, examined the use of tech to address pretrial detention, and learned about the state’s bail system and judicial programs.

Thanks to our program partners, the group met with representatives of The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona, Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, Arizona Supreme Court, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office - Diversion Strategies Group, City of Phoenix Prosecutor’s Office, the Bail Project, Maricopa County Superior Courts, Pretrial Services Unit and the Arizona Capitol Museum.
